GIVING BACK

The Beans

At Salthill Farms Coffee we want to be intentional with where our and our customer’s money goes. That’s why we didn’t hesitate when we met Josh Anderson from Café Intencional and learned about their coffee beans and their mission. We wanted coffee beans that supported our local community but also the community from where the beans were derived. And that’s exactly what Café Intencional does. They work hand in hand with missionaries funding local projects like installing water filtration systems, building smokeless stoves that help prevent women and children from respiratory damage, and support the missionaries in spreading the gospel.

The Money

A portion of our proceeds goes to, "ICARE For the Voiceless," a local organization in Columbia County who serves women and children who are victimized by sexual exploitation as well as those who are at risk of being victimized. They serve through a three-pronged approach of prevention, intervention and restoration. We are so grateful for all that ICARE does for our local community. To find out more or learn how you can get involved click the link below.

CAFE INTENCIONAL

Our Story: The founder, Josh Anderson, after experiencing four mission trips in 16 months, fell in love with Guatemala and her people. Working alongside missionaries, from El Faro (www.misionelfaro.org) to help primarily single women and children have improved living spaces, clean water, food, and smokeless stoves drove this passion.  He saw missionaries coming out of their own pocket to support these programs and realized they could do even more with more revenue.  His desire was to generate revenue to fund the missionaries and their programs, as well as provide fair wages to the farmers by buying their green beans direct from their farms as often as possible.  This birthed the idea of Café Intencional and profit sharing that goes directly to mission work in Guatemala, United States, India, Honduras, Brazil, and a growing list of other countries.
